In October 2018 the Foundation for Veterinary Aid International (FVAI) returned to Tanzania for the fifth time in less than a year. We continued our mission started in October 2017, in the wards of Baraa and Kimandolu in the larger city of Arusha. A small group of FVAI volunteers consisting of 1 veterinarian, one animal health technician and 2 veterinary assistants sterilized at no cost, 101 animals, that is to say 99 dogs and 2 cats! Our local partner Mbwa Wa Africa (dogs of Africa in Swahili) vaccinated 450 dogs against rabies as well during our project. Once again, mission accomplished by a highly dedicated and motivated group of volunteers leaving a lasting impact on the health of the animals and humans of Arusha. Thank you to the volunteers, donors and supporters of FVAI, you make all of our work possible!
