Baja California Sur (Mexico)
Baja California Sur, because of its biodiversity, earned the name “Little Galapagos of the North”. It is where you can find the blue-footed booby, the majestic frigatebird, and sea lions that just want to have fun playing in the water with you.
The illustrious Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez the “World’s Aquarium” because of the richness of the marine life found within. National Geographic Adventure named it “the most beautiful spot for warm water sea kayaking”.
Paradise!
Everything is not perfect in Baja though. The villages surrounding La Paz do not have access to basic veterinary care and the dog and cat populations are exploding. FVAI, being true to its mission of helping populations in need, operates in concert with local communities a MASH (Mobile Animal Surgical Hospital) clinic.
