Transmissible venereal tumours (TVTs) are taking their toll. Dogs become infected during mating and they can also become infected by licking each other.

These tumours are painful and will grow endlessly if left untreated, leading to a long and agonizing  death.

Fortunately, there is a simple and very effective treatment: vincristine, a chemotherapeutic agent.  This drug must be administered intravenously once a week for 4 to 8 weeks by a qualified person.

In Tanzania, each treatment costs $10.
